    Koi fish pellets

I have always used a low cost dog food for my roaches source of protein. They eat it just fine with no problems. I decided to change their diet a bit and bought some koi fish pellets. I put them in two colonies to try them out. Anyone else use these.

African bullet nymphs climbing over vaseline

The title says it all. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. This morning I actually found some nymphs in my P. surinamensis colony that is stacked just below the African bullet colony. I guess I may have to go to a sealed lid for these guys.

    B. rothi males

I have heard that male B. rothi can differ in color. My B. rothi have recently started to mature and I have two different color forms of males, tan and black. I was not surprised but one thing puzzles me. The tan male's wings extend all the way to the end of his abdomen while the black males...

    E. javanica nymphs

Just a question about E. javanica nymphs. My javans have now had their second batch of nymphs. The first batch was relatively small about ten. The second is about the same. Is this typical? My E. chopardi are blowing up in comparison. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. Hans

    E. capucina MM can fly.

Not flutter fly. Totally took off when I opened up the lid. My first two mature roaches from this colony are males. It was awesome. Never seen this from any of my other roach species. :)

    E. javanica death.

Female E. javanica female wasn't lookin too good last night. Today found her belly up and stinkin. Cut her open, cottage cheese inside. Had a hole in her abdomen also. Can mites be ingested? I dont think so. Dogfood, carrot, watermelon diet. Insight?

    E. chopardi nymph with cherry red pronotum

I have a female nymph in my E. chopardi colony that I acquired from two different sources that has a cherry red pronotum like my E. javanica. Has anyone else seen this or did an E. javanica nymph get into the E. chopardi colony before shipping. What do you all think.

    E. javanica death

Last night I discovered my largest E. javanica female dead. Next to her on a dead moist leaf already congregating were some white mites. I considered these to be harmless because there weren't too many and they didn't seem to be a pest. I have these in some of my other colonies as well. I assume...
