Anyone who raises snails know they must eat cuttlebone to maintain a healthy, strong shell. Do roaches need to eat cuttlebone to maintain a strong exoskeleton? Just wondering.
I dont know how to explain this health issue well, i've searched everywhere and cant find anything on this behavior it's puzzling me?
Occasionally if I order some B. Giganteus nymphs, one or two will either die or they wont eat very good but still manage to survive.
When I get the nymphs first...

I keep this species as pets, but always wondered about how they live in the wild. Remember answers may be different from the behavior of ones we domesticated.
1. Where do they come from?
2. I read they can live in bat caves or in trees, is that true, and do they sometimes move from lets say...
I have B. Giganteus, and I read they eat leaves that have died and fallen for one season. In winter if I pick up brown (dead) oak/maple leaves, are they safe to feed right from outside? I have several oak/maple species, are all safe?
A few years back I found this guy, Joe Kunkel, he knew so much on cockroaches so I contacted him many times and asked him questions. He helped me alot! I saved his email and wanted to share it with you so you can email him too if you want. It was advertised on a site, so it's a public email for...

I own 1 Chinese Firebelly Newt, (a male who is almost 10 years old), and I also have 2 cats, Flash (female) and Stinky (male).

Just a warning, roach skins and droppings can make (only those people who have cockroach allergies) who live with asthma have asthma attacks. So if someone in your family has asthma and you cant figure out whats causing the attacks, it COULD be the roaches.
I read somewhere that it is essential that you feed your B. giganteus roaches cooked hamburger meat (plain) as part of their diet to prevent lack of protein which causes wing biting and sometimes cannibalism.
I feed mine cooked hamburger meat once a week, and not one has ever been bitten.
So I...
1. How were they created? How do you get a dark-eyed insect to produce white eyed offspring?
2. Are there any other species of roaches who have been bred to have white eyes?
3. Does this mutation occur in the wild?
4. If you can create white eyes, what about changing the color of other body...
I not only keep roaches as pets, I also gave them a job, acting! I hope you enjoy my amateur attempt at getting roaches to act!
By the way, I still have all 3 roaches who were in the video, they are alive and well at over a year old!
