    Hatching Archiblatta oothecas

Upon first look at this species I'd have never thought they were roaches. I'm finding more and more about roaches that don't look like traditional roaches. Really cool species. I'd love to have these in my collection some day.

Strange peppered roach head marking on new female

Likely just a 'morph'. Peppered roaches seem to vary widely in coloration/pattern. That's a cool outcome!

Yesss but that won't be for a while since I haven't had a single one mature yet. They're getting close but dear lord they grow slowly.

I assume you'll make a blog post about it once you're ready to sell them so I'll keep an eye out for that

    Dog food brands

Straight up - the cheapest, most unattractive dog food you can find works. I just looked up 'cheap dog food' on Amazon and whatever's the cheapest I buy. They love it.

Back into the hobby and more serious aout it - need recommendations

Since making this thread my collection has expanded tremendously but despite how many people have suggested Dominoes, I still haven't gotten them! Because of that they're next on my list. I'm just waiting for the U.S hobby to get their crap together over which stock is 'pure' petiveriana n'...

    Hey 👋🏼

Welcome!! Happy to have more people from other regions of the hobby! I love the roach community so much because of how small it is. Hissing cockroach mite infestation

After just checking again it isn't as bad as I made it sound - at least in most of my enclosures. Yesterday I cleaned off as many as I could from each enclosure then put a protective layer of Kyle's barrier along the top of the enclosures that didn't already have them, so now I mostly saw...

    Hissing cockroach mite infestation

Ever since my G. oblongonota pair escaped, their mites have spread into the majority of my other roach enclosures. At first it was just my P. saussurei, but now it's all of them. Despite my efforts to rehouse the P. saussurei before the mites spread, they did and they're all over. At first I...

My experiences feeding, a continuing journey!

Recently, I've noticed mine go crazy for leaf litter and dog food. They've been breeding and growing quickly lately so any litter or dog food I put in there gets eaten up within a day or so.
