Bulk giant canyon isopods+surinam with substrate

Have a few bins of giant canyons that need cleared out a bit. There are some surinams with them as well. I'm just filling up a gallon bag with isopods(100+ I'd guess) and however many roaches are with them. The soil is very rich and I've added it to my plants in the past with good results. Giant...

Struggling with gyna lurida, what's going on???

I have attempted these I think 3 times now over the past several years. They always seem to dwindle down to 1 or 2 which live for a long time. This past attempt I thought I was going good, I had them in a deli cup and they matured from small nymphs to adults. I moved them to a larger bin and...

    Freshly cut maple wood, safe?

Trimmed our maple tree and have a lot of logs and branches with lichen and moss on them. I have used rotten maple wood and leaves in my enclosures in the past, but would it be safe to put the regular wood in? I was especially wondering this regarding superworms since I have a colony of them and...

Do Phorids attack freshly molted roaches?

I've had 2 bins(none other for some reason) under assault. I'm only finding phorids on dead adults, which made me think the harmless, but annoying type. Now I'm wondering, could they be going after freshly molted roaches? I'm not seeing as many tiny nymphs in those bins so I'm worried they might...

Most colorful species in the hobby?

Just curious which you all think are the most colorful/interesting looking species available? I'm sure this has been brought up at some point, but I had trouble searching for it. From everything I've come across, the emerald roaches are probably #1 for me. I've seen some pretty incredible...

WTB or trade for: giant lobster roaches, extinct roaches, porcellio ornatus isopods

I already mentioned the isopods in another thread, but still haven't found them yet and wanted to add to a couple of my roach colonies. Looking for the hardier/plain looking yellow spotted P. Ornatus BTW.

    Looking for P. Ornatus

I had the spotted ornatus which were very hardy for me, but they ended up getting wiped out from temps getting too hot. Thinking I want to give them another shot. If you don't have ornatus, i may be open to other similar sized/care/prolific isopods.

How do you all heat your large collections?

So for like 30-50+ colonies, what do you guys find to be the best way to heat? I've been using a space heater on low setting, but even that is more expensive than I'd like. Safety is also a major concern. I think I may have even asked this before, but can't seem to find the thread.

    Weird breeding behavior ivory roaches

Thought this was interesting enough to post. I had my ivories in a pretty large bin. They were reproducing, but slower than when I had them crowded. Anyway, today I put them in a size down. Literally just dumped the substrate and all in a new bin. Within minutes the adults were all flapping...
