    Dry is relative. Everyone has different humidity levels in their houses. Some people have success while others fail using exact same setup and care but different room humidity. You might try setting up a few under exact care as the discoids and see if they survive. It is hard to know for certain...

    It is a possibility. If they are indeed Pycnoscelus surinamensis they are parthenogenic and very prolific.

    Here's my two enclosures for B. giganteus They are EZY brand 75 qt gasket bins. One is stock from Orin and the other is from PA University. I'd say about 80% have matured with perfect wings. I'll be adding more climbing bark, etc. as the colonies grow

    I've heard some people say that perlite has harmed roaches that have ate it. I tried used potting soil that had a perlite component last year when many hobbyists were touting potting soil. I personally haven't noticed any uptick in deaths from colonies kept with perlite containing potting soil...

    I'm starting to combine again. I used to but after a while it was either cull to keep numbers in check or separate. I don't really sell or have anything to feed. But if you have that many T's all is good!

    Also, if any species lays ootheca keep watch that they aren't being eaten.

    If they have the same care it'll work. Keep an eye out for one species outcompeting the others. You may have to refresh the bin sooner. 😁

    50% will still work for a lot of roaches. Sounds like the room may be taking away the humidity, especially if you are using a furnace to warm the house.
