I will be going down to Arizona in less then a week on a collecting trip! I am primarily going down to collect D. granti. Also I will try to collect grasshoppers, vinagrooms, darkling beetles, desert roaches (if I can find any) and various other arthropods. I will probably have some of what I catch up for sale. PM me if anyone has any species you would like me to collect, I can't guaranty that I will be able to collect them but I will try my best too. :)

Here are the species I'd be interested in. :)

Cockroaches:
Eremoblatta subdiaphana
Parcoblatta notha
(Interested in nymphs and adult females of both, males I don't care about)

Beetles:
Any of the Chalcolepidius species
Vesperelater arizonicus
Female Euthysanius sp
Cnemodinus testaceus
Eschatomoxys pholeter
Iphthiminus lewisii
Eleodes eschscholtzii

I will keep that in mind for collecting, I'm hoping to find different roach species but I have a feeling they are going to be very difficult to spot. As for darklings my plan is to collect any and every darkling I find because I would like to set up a large mult species enclose of them and have enough to sell. I'm not very good at identifying them except for death freighters lol. So I could send you pictures for you to identify. :)

For the sand roaches like Arenivaga and probably Eremoblatta, rodent burrows in scrublands are the best place to look for them! :) Of course, it's generally a bad idea to stick your hand down random holes in those types of habitats, what with rattlesnakes and whatnot, but Kyle Kandilian and Alan Jeon did it last year, and they are both still alive!

Multiple species enclosures are nice and all, but with Tenebrionids, it would make breeding rather difficult, since most Tenebrionid larvae look pretty dang similar for the most part. And if you have larvae of different species of varying sizes housed together, you'd never really know which ones to take out for pupation, and which to leave alone until they get bigger...

I'd be happy to try and identify what I can, I love trying to ID native Tenebs. :)

I didn't think about that aspect from a breeding point of view I'll keep that in mind. Maybe I can stick a branch down the burrow and try to dig it out. I'd love to add a new species to the hobby.

Yeah, that's why I keep a lot of mine separate, many keepers have caught or bought different species of darkling beetles and housed them together, then they get larvae and don't know which species it is! As a result, many larvae can be killed by trying to induce pupation too early, if they think they are from a small Teneb, or they may expire if they are left in the cage to grow bigger, if they think they are from one of the bigger Tenebs in their cage.

That may work, or a small plastic trowel perhaps? (I say plastic because metal may end up damaging the roaches). Would be great to get some more Arenivaga in the hobby, or Eremoblatta subdiaphana! That species has been on my wish list for quite some time now, unfortunately they are very hard to find, and I'm not sure anyone has ever kept any in captivity before!

You can put me down for some Parcoblatta notha and Eremoblatta as well. :)  I might also be interested in some Arenivaga or odd grasshoppers, but I'd have to see pics.

K, I will make a list of everyone and what they want. Those who specifically ask will be taken care of before I post a add for everyone to buy from, also everyone needs to keep in mind that I may not be able to collect what you want, I'm only going to be down there for 2 or 3 days, if I only get a few roaches of a certain species I may keep them for my self to breed if I collect a large # they will be avalable for sale.  :)

I'm in need of a male Mastigoproctus giganteus, preferably midsized (1.75" - 2"). I'd also be interesting in seeing your list of for sale items once you get back. Have fun!

I'm not having any luck with finding any vinagrooms right now. I think someone on arachnoboards is selling large ones for 25 each or so. You could see if they could be able to sex them for you.
