TLDR: I need to rehouse my A. nasatum because their substrate is getting depleted, but they just had babies. Can I safely rehouse them or should I wait a little while for them to grow a bit.
I have a very small, struggling, colony of A. nasatum "Whiteout" that consists of maybe 6 individuals. I was just about to change them over to new substrate since it's been quite a while, but I notices that some absolutely miniscule babies were crawling around. This is only the second time they've had babies since I got them. The first time coincided with the birth of my son and I forgot to water the enclosure and lost them all and several adults. I really don't want to screw up this latest batch, so I wondered if I should just add a little new substrate for now and let them grow out a bit before I move them over or if I could just save all the existing substrate and move them with no harm?
Still pretty new to isopods, so I would appreciated the help. Thanks!
