Can these species be stopped by Vaseline?

Just wanted to know if African bullet roaches and asiablatta kyotensis could be stopped from climbing by a Vaseline barrier?

Try the Sterlite Gasket Box sold @ Target, nothing gets out.

You can also build an enclosure out of a bucket and lid. Those usually fit on very tight. Then nothing can escape.
