By encouragement I mean to strengthen the chances of the nymphs (madagascar hissing cockroach) being jet black. Thanks

I think in order to do so, you need to have the mutation present in the colony, and cull/separate out any that don't show the black colouring, which increases the frequency of it occurring in the offspring.
