Sorry for the long delay guys, I've homework and etc to attend to, but here's the results! ^^

Hypothesis: If a selected, common cockroach barrier can stop a cockroach from passing onto a non-coated glass or acrylic section of the same object, then less cockroaches will escape captivity.

Temperature: 23.9 degrees Celius

Humidity: 40%

Each 6.09600 by 3.04800 dm pane of acrylic/glass was coated 10.2 cm from the top with a 2.5 cm band of the selected substance. Light was relatively dim in the room. Each roach was tapped on the abdomen with a long toothpick and was guided into the direction of the band. No cockroach was used more than once, and each had all 6 of its legs.

Hey Zephyr, so did you seperate out the different species, and different percentages of how effective (based on ability to climb up past the barrier) each barrier substance was on those species?

Unfortunately I didn't have the resources to test each species, but I used 3 and 4th instar hissers to replicate the weight.

LOL, sorry, can't help myself. So the long and short of it is that nothing is going to contain our little 6-spiny legged buggers. Zephyr, you know I mean this in a big sisterly way

Well, it looks like Vaseline is best on glass and bug stop or pam spray is best on Acrylic.
