Was wondering if there are any feeder roaches that can be fed to smaller geckos such as Velvets. Maybe small Discoids or Orange Spots. I'm looking for something that is non-flying, non-climbing and easy to keep and breed.

I feed my hatchling nephrurus amyae and wheeleri baby dubia roaches. The discoids also work well, but the dubia are a little slower and good for small geckos. Send me an email if you want to buy some or see my ad below.

Hey James,

Thanks for the info. One more question. Is this the staple diet of your Nephrurus or do you mix it up with other insects?

I just feed them different species of roaches. Some people feed there Nephrurus pinkies to fatten them up, because crickets don't do the job. Well there is no need for that when your feeding roaches because they have so much more meat on them than crickets. Mine are all very plump and healthy and for my first year I was able to breed them pretty easy. Now incubating and hatching the eggs is another story.
