Female Hissers for sale or trade

Crazy Bug Lady

Third Instar
I would like to rehome my female hissers, some of whom are pregnant.  I don't want much for them, but would appreciate it if you could pay shipping and perhaps some amount for the females.  I would also take male hissers of any breed in trade or partial trade.  I am pretty sure they are hybrids, but some may either be wide horns or regular Madagascar hissers.  I would really like to sell them to a pet home as they have been lovely pets.  Please message me if interested.  I do reserve the right to withdraw this offer, though I will let any interested parties know if I do so.

Thanks for your time.

Just a little more information:

There are twelve females available, though I am also willing to sell/trade four additional regular hisser subadult females (also likely hybrids as I am told there aren't many unmixed regular hissers.  I'm sorry for not using the technical names.  Thanks for your time:

Good Evening @Crazy Bug Lady!

How are you? I actually love hissers and have a large enclosure for them and would be happy to take in some more females! Do you happen to have pics of the hissers? I'd be happy to talk about buying them if you're interested. They'd be going into pet enclosures so I wouldn't be feeding them off immediately or anything. I can even show the enclosure they'd be going into. It's a bio active with plenty of hisser friends for them as well as powder orange isopods and springtails. Let me know what you think!

Hello,

That sounds like a great set up.  I wouldn't mind if you sent the pictures of your enclosure.  About how big is it in gallons?

I am happy to try to send you pictures of them. What kind of pictures would you like?  Also what else would you like to know about the females?

Hey!

Sorry for my late reply, busy day! I'll send you a pic or two of it now as the roaches are out and about eating and communicating and such. It's a 15 gallon overall but I am going to get a few sterilite tubs for roaches I have coming in and am happy to get a separate one for them if needed (Just in case they're used to each other and don't want to be around other roaches). And yeah I do actually have a question or two.

What is their current enclosure like?

What do you normally feed them?

Do they have hisser roach mites or not? - I am aware the mites are harmless and in some ways benefit the roach itself (I know it's more commensalism than mutualism but still), but I do actually have separate cultures. Some have roach mites, some don't. Both are healthy, but I just would like to know ahead of time.

Do you happen to know their approximate age? - Totally ok if you don't. I only know the ages of my own roaches if I personally raised the nymphs.

Additionally, since there are a fairly large amount of potentially pregnant females, I am also fine with making their own bioactive set up in a similar fashion.

For any of my bio setups, I generally put in a live tropical plant or two (Sometimes no plant), isopods, and plenty of springtails. So those would be their potential tankmates. I'm currently working to get pics onto my pc. Lost my usb cable so I'm emailing them. I might just go grab my other one and do it quicker.

Oh and as far as the pics go, you don't have to photograph them individually, just a general couple pics of the roaches doing their thing. I just like to know what I'm up against as far as size so I know what enclosure to put them in if you end up wanting to sell them to me.

Hope that all is coherent! Thanks and I'll work on getting you those pics very soon!

Working on the pics but it might be a day or so as my phone's pics exceed the file size and I might have to bring them into a paint program.

Hi,

Thanks so much for wanting to purchase my females.  Unfortunately, I have decided to give them to a local zoo that wanted them.  They will be in their education center and they said I can come and visit them.  I hope you understand, I really do appreciate you wanting them.  I think you would have given them a great home too!  Warmly,

Crazy Bug Lady

No worries at all! I'm really happy to hear they will be wonderful ambassadors for their species! A zoo would take great care of them and I agree that it'd be cool to visit them! If you ever potentially need more roaches to go to a good home, I'd be happy to take them in if I have room! Always happy to help out roach kiddos!

 Have a great day!
