How to get rid of (grain?) mites on smokybrown cockroach's body?

I've never had a problem with the mites actually getting on the roaches before, but for some reason they are swarming all over the 2 adult females I have. I worry they will make eating difficult because they are all over the face. my third female died last week and I am not sure if it was because of the mites, or if these ones are somehow sick and the mites can tell they will die soon?? for now the 2 living females seem to be acting normal.
I have changed out the bedding and put them in a smaller container for monitoring. They share housing with 2 nymphs but the nymphs don't seem to have any mites? only the adults. I've read alot of things about dusting them with flour or covering everything in an alchohol mix, but since most advice is for hissers, which are much more sturdy, I didn't want to accidentally harm these guys, who are pretty small and squishy in comparison. any advice is appreciated!

I've never really had this exact issue thankfully. I'd probably try placing small apple pieces all over their bin and then throw them away later that day or the next day then put fresh apple pieces and repeat in hopes that you throw away most of the mites on apple pieces.
At the same time I'd try keeping the bin as dry as possible while still keeping the roaches alive. Adults would be more tolerant of dryness than nymphs.
