Madagascar Hissing Roaches Suddenly Passing

Hello!

I have/breed a colony of Madagascar Hissing Roaches and give them away to friends who want them. I recently gave to pairs to a friend who works in a small zoo. Her roaches arrived vis 2Day FedEx alive and well. She put them in a cypress mulch/sphagnum moss substrate with some leaves and hides. She fed them yellow squash (which has been fed to other inverts with no issue) and cricket cubes for moisture.

After a week, one of the males was on its back and pulsating. When my friend applied gentle pressure a reddish liquid c a me from its face. Two days later the second male followed in the same way.

Has anyone seen this before or has any insight? I've successfully kept my colony without ever having this issue (even these roaches were only 8 months old) and suddenly they have issues when she has received them.

Thanks.
