New craniifer

Ralph

Panchlora
I finally got 5 nymphs of Blaberus craniifer from Blaberus.com! I was so relieved that they really couldn't climb! They are adorable, but really fast and hyper. Do they slow down once the excitement of shipping is over or when they become adults? Also, do they really need substrate? My cage has a little hut for hermit crabs, lots of bark, some egg carton, and other wood and cage decorations.

I've noticed the nymphs really like to burrow. I'm currently using a 1/3 peat moss to potting soil ratio for substrate with dead leaves on top.

I'll make a point of it to get them some substrate. Thanks Zephyr. They have calmed down to the point of being mildly handleable.

Hello,

I have an 100 B. craniifer "BW" colony and they don´t have substrate. First, I kept them whit substrate, but it was less hygienic. Now, I´m keeping them without it and they are growing well.

Best regards,

Javier.
