New Periplaneta species found in NYC

Oh wow! P. japonica!

I used to find those at my uncle's house when I was in Korea. It's really cool to know that this species can now be collected in the US. I look forward to getting some of these if anyone gets a chance to collect and breed them :)

I'll be on the lookout I live in New York :)

Did they say if they live in wooded areas like native cockroaches here or if they fly towards lights outside?

awww yeahhh!!!

Run Keith run and don't leave any trash can unturned!

Okay so the article says they were captured in a walk way called " the high line" on the west side of manhatten. I don't like hunting in the cold but this might work for you. It would force all of them down and to warm areas. Pitfall traps will do the work for you if the area is unsafe.

There is a little more on them.^^^^ they live outside in the us apparently.
