I own tarantulas but have never been particularly interested in roaches.
But last weekend while visiting Washington, D.C. I went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, and in the insect exhibit, a nice volunteer offered me a Gromphadorhina portentosa to hold. I thought it would be gross, but I very quickly determined that this was a very dignified insect indeed, and not at all true to the reputation of the household roach pest!
So after eventually "winning over" my wife (but not totally), I just ordered some Gromphadorhina portentosa to get started! Yay!
If they have offspring, I may see if my spiders like them.
I found this forum through a link from the Roachman's site.
Nice to be here!
