Normal for P. aegyptiaca to produce adult males first?

It's only been a bit over a year since I received large nymphs from Kyle that quickly became adults. Since then they mated, made lots of egg cases, and have since died, but the first adults that were bred here have emerged this week.

However, all 11 of them are males..... Is it normal for the males to molt out ahead of the ladies? Because otherwise my colony might be in trouble. :lol:

Just curious!!

(And it's making me want to check the Question Marks that hit adulthood the same week.... I can't believe both species matured in less than a year!!)

yes, as it's the case fo many insects, the males need less time to reach adulthood
