Reptile clay for Burrowers

Hello all!

So I've seen substrate around and I was wondering if it ever gets used in the invertebrate hobby. I've never actually handled it myself so I don't know what the consistency is like or if any species would even be able to move it with their bug strength. Has anyone experimented?

It'd work well for species that specifically need clay based substrates for breeding/pupal cell construction, like certain beetles. Otherwise, I'd stay away from it, clay isn't the easiest substrate to work with and only really useful for a select few cultured invertebrates.
