Roaches and spearmint plant

I've got a 2.5 gallon aquarium that is half filled with soil that is safe for roaches that I'm growing some Spearmint plants in. I was thinking about putting some of my B. Orientalis nymphs in there with the plants. I was wondering if the mint or mint oils would have any negative effect on the roaches?

Don't know... but mint essence is often component of insect repellers....

Many plants manufacture repellant chemicals versus insecticides. Try placing one in the tank and observe its behavior closely to determine if it should be removed or joined by siblings.

That's a thought. I'll go ahead and try that out once the plants sprout.
