Solo pods?

Hi! In colonies, isopods seem to gather together, but don't seem to engage each other very often.

Has anyone tried to keep individual pods by themselves? Do they survive? Do they go mad? Do they seem happy?

I'm setting up some micro terrariums, (like 6x6", I'm not cruel) and they breed too quickly for a colony to go in... What about one?

Thanks in advance for what I'm sure will be heated opinions! 😅

I have kept isolated specimens of Porcellio succinctus and Armadillidium. They live a lot longer and reach maximum size if isolated.

Currently I have one alone with 3 small local millipedes because the rest died, and I haven't really noticed any difference it adult behavior. However, they seem to be happier in groups.

I might try keeping one alone vs a group to see what happens, maybe.  Another step would be to keep several singles and a group for comparison.  the next step might be to do the same step of singles and then reintroducing the singles to the group.
