I was 19 in 1994, so I'd have to guess I must have had it a good 5+ or so years prior to that. I have a few other insect transformers in the old toy box, but I wasn't going to bust them all out unless I saw some others representin' (which isn't happening).

I'd guess your beetle is from the mid to late eighties but you can find a copyright date on the toy itself. The soundwave toy says Takara Co. Lmtd. 74',83' Japan. However, it's probably from 1986 because of the color change sticker.

I looked at the back of the toy and it says the following:

Copyright ART MIC BANDAI

Made IN JAPAN

Hey, does yours still play music? I'd like to see a photo of it transformed, but no hurries...I can wait another 20 years
