I have a ten gallon tank set up for a breeding colony n i have one uth on one side and one under the tankb ecausei t gets realy cold in my house during this winter months is that bad

 
Maybe go to a pet store and buy a cheap heat meter that you can attach to the inside of the tank. Whether it's too hot or cold depends on what species you have.
