Weird beetle?

Second Instar
So I am getting interested in my local species of inverts and I came across this beetle I have never seen before. I live in white county AR, I'll post a picture as soon as I find my cell phone.

edit: A friend told me it is a stag beetle native to AR, I'll post pics when I find out how lol
