What kind of roach should I keep?

I am entirely new to keeping cockroaches and I'm looking into blaberus craniifer and Madagascar hissing cockroaches. Which would you suggest? Or any other suggestions? I'm looking on BIC to purchase them from. Thank you ahead of time!

Those are good starter roaches, so you can't go wrong with either. Another species you could look at is Archimandrita tesselata, the peppered roach. Hemiblaberus tenebricosa is another good starter, but they're very shy so you won't see them very often.

I've found that Blaberus atropos are easy to keep and are great for handling, I'd definitely recommend them as a good beginner species.

Any hisser is a good start. Blaberus craniifer are pretty too, but they tend to be a bit skittish. Keep that in mind if you intend on handling.
