Macropanesthia rhinoceros in captivity

Wolverine

Fifth Instar
Very interested in this species. I am a roach fanatic. How are they in captivity? What species of eucalyptus are they found around in the wild? Here in CA there are many kinds of eucalyptus to collect. Has anyone bred them in the US yet? Are they worth the investment? Have time and resources. What is their ideal habitat? Probably the hardest thing will be locating them in the US. Thank you as usual everybody. On this site more than facebook now lol.

How are they in captivity? They are quite sturdy but many people kill them due to bad husbandry advice.

What species of eucalyptus are they found around in the wild? It doesn't matter, it's not a good idea to feed them Eucalyptus.

Has anyone bred them in the US yet? Yes.

Are they worth the investment? Without a doubt since any offspring would be very easy to trade or sell.

What is their ideal habitat? See Invertebrates-Magazine for older article and update.

Probably the hardest thing will be locating them in the US. Yes, not even a handful have been available in the last year or two.

But it only takes like three of these to fill a hand! :P Anyway, we need to find some way to spread the word about not feeding Eucalyptus because so many other sites say that.

Wolverine- Peter (BugsinCyberspace) has a pair for $900. Another option would be to ask if he'll sell any offspring they produce so he can keep those two.
