Online site to buy roaches in Florida?

roachcrossing.com and capecodroaches.com both have a small selection of roaches legal to ship to Florida I believe.

Thanks! I hadn't found those sites yet. I'll add them to my list. I see they actually have a "Florida Legal" section so that's really useful :)

When it comes to, say, Madagascar hissing roaches I assume it'll be legal to buy them from someone in Florida. either online or local?

Actually, that's still illegal. Over in FL I'm pretty sure it's illegal to actually own any non native roaches, so even if you buy them from someone in Florida it's still illegal. Still, it's not like the police go door to door looking for people keeping hissers illegally, so you'd probably be able to do so without getting caught, (as a matter of fact, I got my first pet hisser while i was living in Florida).

Still, I'd stay safe and stick to the rules. The only roaches you can legally own in FL are native species and invasive species that have already become naturalized there.

Awww...I didn't realize Florida had such strict roach laws :( That means most of the most fun pet species aren't allowed :(

Yeah, that's the sad thing about Florida, they don't want any more invasive species to get established there so they've put a ban on all non native roaches. :(

That is good though. I live in Florida and don’t want ANOTHER kind of roach in my kitchen, especially an ugly big one that hisses!

Well a lot of people find hissers very cool and cute looking (myself included), this forum is aimed at people who love roaches and keep them as pets... So I'd try not to be so negative of them on here, this isn't quite the space for that kind of audience.

I think Death's Head roaches are invasive there, so at least you have one big species.

Florida's exotic pet laws are super strict. Lots of reptiles just got banned too. Shame, it seems like such a nice place to keep them.

While sometimes there's just accidents or critters are good escape artists, many of the invasive species (mainly reptiles) are because of irresponsible people dumping their pets. I imagine the laws wouldn't be nearly as strict if that wasn't a major factor.

It's all terrible. It's good that I don't live in Florida 😆. Until recently, we didn’t have laws at all that prohibit the keeping of any animals, but in 2020 we introduced a law that prohibits keeping a whole list of animals, for example, you can’t keep wild predators, poisonous snakes and some types of poisonous chelicerae. Unfortunately, this list includes some of the most beautiful Buthidae, for example, my favorite species is Androctonus australis. But no one cares and still contain. Even cougars and jaguars 😂.

The funny thing is that there are two-incisors marsupials on the list, and this includes the sugar possum 😆 . Absolutely stupid law.

Yes Yes! ☝️ 😡
