Hibiscusmile- Hybrid means that two different species were sexually compatible and bred to produce offspring that is genetically some of each parent. An example in mammals would be the breeding of a lion and a tiger, which produces the hybrid called "liger" if you want to Google it.
I strongly believe that nobody has crossed anything with B. discoidalis.
The term hybrid also refers to crosses of different races, subspecies, breeds or cultivars of the same species.

...or you can apparently use it when you don't know what you have exactly and you find the closest taxon you know and call it a hybrid.
