    These have been a dream species of mine, ever since I first recieved my copy of the "Allpet Roaches" booklet, which has one on the cover (erroneously IDd as Paratropes lycoides). Such an iconic species, if I can rear these to adulthood I will be ecstatic. 😄

    I think the longest reported incubation was around 14 months for M.blaberoides according to Russian hobbyists.

    Oothecae of this species can take over a year to incubate... so it will be a while still.

    The adult females are more hefty than some would think! Males are quite light though.

    Substrates for Pycnoscelus nigra

    I gave mine used substrate from an old bin, a coco fiber and sand mixture, and they've done just fine, they really are not picky.
