Everytime I check on my surinam roaches, I notice that some of the nymphs are shiny on the front part of their bodies and dull on the very end of the abdomen. It's almost as if there's a perfect line between the shiny and dim parts. What's up with this?

A lot of my discoids are showing up like this lately: What is the cause of this? Too low humidity? Too high? Dehydration?

I should be heading over to some woods in the next week to a place where I've heard reports of / seen a few cockroaches. Hopefully this'll be a chance to get some new species into the hobby, even if they are small and short-lived! Stay posted for the findings!
