Ive collected a couple, does anyone know what they eat? I read somewhere that they eat dead or dying insects. I'm not sure how true it is though. I took a decent picture of them that captured the copper head and pronotum. Also the metallic blue abdomen? Not sure what that area on beetles are...

I think I have some, my largest is a little over 20mm including antenna. Is there a way to get a positive Id on them? If they are laevis I have at least a couple hundred nymphs from some adults I have found in my yard. I'll post some pictures soon.
