    Blue Xestoblatta not really Xestoblatta?

So many people have seen this picture of a beautiful blue Panchlora-like cockroach that is labeled as a Xestoblatta sp, however, I don't think it is. This roach looks like a Blaberid, yes? It looks closely related to Panchlora. However, if the Cockroach Species File is to be believed...

    Anyone Allergic to Their Roaches?

I think I might be, held one of my hissers, and got a buch of blisters on the spot I held it. :( Pretty sure that means im allergic, right? Doesn't happen when I hold my Blaberus, only happens with my hissers, also I can only get the blisters to show up on the back of my hands, not my palms or...

    Stupid Computer "Updates"...

Tried to get on my computer to blog earlier and it had to restart and "Update" windows, which takes hours and doesn't seem to actually do anything really. Anyone else think those updates are stupid? It's been well over half an hour and it is only 25% done doing whatever it's doing.

    Pseudomops ootheca hatch time

Anyone know how long these take to hatch? It's been at least 4 months since mine started laying ootheca, and they have yet to hatch. I'm afraid my female is laying infertile ootheca, even though she has males to mate with. Any help or advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

    Melanolestes picipes

Got a pair of these from a trade with Mastigoproctus on AB, (AKA Micheal Dixon, the owner of Mike's House of A Thousand Legs), and they are very nice! I love the red bordering on these guys, hopefully I will be able to breed them! Male: Female:

    UncommonRoachBoy

Did a trade with Joseph, and his end of the trade (a sexed pair of Princisia vanwaerebeki "Big"), arrived safe and sound. He even included a free Ergaula capucina ootheca! Overall he was a pleasure to do business with, and I would do business with him again! :)

    Can Therea hybridize?

Some of my Therea olegrandjeani nymphs have found their way into the T.regularis enclosure beneath them, I was wondering if those two species can hybridize? I will of course try to remove all the nymphs I can find, and if any stay hidden until maturity I can of course remove them quickly, not...

    Corydidarum pygmaea survival rates?

What is the survival rate for these guys? My mom is gonna buy me some of these for my birthday, so if we got a single sexed pair, what are the chances they will both survive to adulthood? Thanks in advance! :)

    Is it normal...

Is it normal to want every single roach I see? I love and appreciate the species I have, I look at them every day and hold several species quite often, but I always seem to want more! Every time I see new roach species I think to myself "yep, I want that species, and that one, ooh, I want that...

Little bit of a Christmas miracle!

So I only have three Pseudomops septentrionalis left, two adults and one nymph. One adult has been mature for a little over two months now. The other just molted a few weeks ago. I thought they were both male, seeing as I had not seen any mating activity or any sort of egg laying. Just checked...

    Big eyed bug care?

Anyone here have experience with the big-eyed bugs, family Geocoridae? I caught one yesterday and three more today, and I'd like to keep them. All I know is that they are predatory. Anyone familiar with their care? Thanks in advance! :)

    Cariblatta lutea care tips?

Hi, I will be getting this species and quite a few others soon, this is one of the only ones that I don't know too much about its care. I have set up a cage, it is a small plastic air-tight container that was once used for nuts. I am using coconut fiber and a little bit of rotten wood as the...

    What size bins...

This may seem like a noobie question, but is there a staple size bin that you guys use for your roaches, or does it vary from species to species? Do all roaches eventually outgrow their enclosures? I had my R.formosana outgrow their cage, and I'm scared my other roaches are going to outgrow...

    Therea ooth hatch time?

It's been about 5 months since my females have been laying ooths, and I have yet to see any hatchlings. I know Polyphagids take a long time to hatch and grow, but still, I'm concerned. Also, I saw a half eaten ootheca in the cage, why would they eat it? Is this species known to eat their ooths...

Is it illegal to order roaches from overseas?

I'm sure the answer is yes, but I'm just curious. I know it is illegal to import beetles from overseas, but the government seems much more lenient with roaches. Just curious, thanks in advance! :)

[FS] Parcoblatta americana (American wood roach)

Hi guys, I am selling some of my Parcoblatta americana "Tabletop mountain" right now, they are hardy and prolific, however they need a cool period in the winter. Females and nymphs are not able to climb smooth surfaces, males are winged and can both climb and fly. Right now is the perfect time...

    Hisser concerns...

I don't currently have any hisser species, but I would like to breed some in the future. The only thing holding me back is that these guys breed like roaches right? And so many people sell them so there is not a huge demand. So what do I do with all the excess roaches? I don't have any large...
