Aborted ootheca

So I changed things up with my pepper roaches they were in a big bin with a heat pad on the side in the living room so they have been in the cool side. Last week I put the females and 3 males in a 10 gallon that is heated by undertank heater and heat lamp above on the same side. It has a thermostat in the 10 gallon and it reads 80 if I had to guess on the bin it's probably been around 65-70 which is our room temp. So today I check the aquarium and find 3 aborted ootheca. Is 80 to high or are they in a way reseting to breed at this higher temp? If I keep the ootheca at room temp any chance they will hatch?

 
Once an ooth is aborted it's pretty much done and no nymphs will come from it. 80 might be pushing it for this species, but I think they would still be doing fine. You probably want to pull the heater under the tank though since that's never good for roaches. 

 
Oh yeah I forgot about that luckily there's 3 inches of substrate. So they are pretty safe. Takeing the over tank heater has dropped the temp to 75. There hasn't been any more loses of ootheca and all the roaches seem happier. :)

 
Thanks I hope they have more babies soon. These have been one of the trickier spieces I have kept when it comes to breeding. Probably cause it takes so long for them to gestate.
