I looked in on my lobster roaches today to find a female giving birth. Right at her abdomen, having a nice snack, was a subadult nymph! Of course I swatted him off, by my question is, was he feeding on the newborns or the afterbirth produced by the female? There were easily 5 or 6 freshly molted nymphs of various sizes sitting in the enclosure nearby, so I'm thinking the thief wasn't actually after his relatives.

ive never known any of my roaches to eat their own, but unless the sub adult was dehydrated and needed some soft newborn roach to quench his thirst, i would think it was coincidental.
