Beginner in pet roaches

I am looking to keep a variety of roaches. Now what container would be good to keep single species roaches in? Any good beginner species? I was thinking of keeping g portenosa as a pet roach and breed it once in a while. Any methods of heating multiple cages?

Heating cable is good to heat many cages as you can lay it out across a desk/shelf and use it to heat the cages. Roaches can be kept in a variety of cages but food storage ones work the best along with gasket boxes.

Plastic containers of various sizes seem to be the best for housing roaches, easy to add the amount of ventilation you want, and they are fairly cheap. Any of the hissers would make great beginner species, (except for Elliptorhina davidi), and many of them are decent for handling too. I use this to heat my cages, if you use it right you can heat multiple cages with it. :)

Any setup for the heating cable? Would they be on the outside of said cage or on the bottom? It is a wire shelving unit that the enclosures will be on. I am a visual person so pictures would be nice.

I personally would put the cable on the side so that the roaches can choose how warm they want to be. Putting the cable below means that if they're trying to escape the heat, they'll overheat and potentially die because their instinct is to go lower when they get too hot.

We have Blaberus fusca which are nice. Just got them breeding a few months ago and now have a couple hundred small nymphs all over. We just listed them on Ebay
