Blaberus fusca Controversy

There are a few post here and websites that claim that blaberus fusca is not a true species. Particularly this site with some great photo examples. Was this issue ever resolved?

Blaberus fusca are also known as Blaberus craniifer "ugly" or "brown wing" in Europe. The two are closely related and can obviously interbreed (all the 'hybrid' Blaberus are a cross of these two, the vendors that say B. giganteus are 'in' the hybrids are offering false info./ wishful thinking). If the same criteria were used for Gromphadorhina and "Princisia" there would likely only be one species.

Thanks Orin! I was about to ask about those "brown wing" craniifer. It seems like classification of roaches is pretty confusing, isn't it?

There are more than 4,000 described species (not including termites) and more are described every year. When you get down to species that cross readily in captivity like all Gromphadorhina (and so-called "Princisia) and those two Blaberus it's close to impossible to have a definitive answer.
