Can Eurycotis floridana and opaca hybridize?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows if the two species, E. floridana and E. opaca, will hybridize. I ask this because I have a group of about 10 opaca nymphs, that I'm keeping with my two adult male floridana at the moment (I had a female, but she died before producing any offspring). I wanted to know if I should remove the floridana when the opaca reach maturity or not, since I don't want a bunch of hybrids running around.

Also, anyone have an idea on the lifespan of adult floridana? I collected these two as adults from the wild back in July, and they're still going strong.

Thanks!

hi!

since they belong to the same genus, there is a risk of inbreeding between those two species. I can't say it will happen, I don't know, but the risk is real. The best thing to do is to keep them separeted, so that you can be sure you'll keep pure species in bred ;)
