Hello you all

I´ve found this two criatures in old hood at São Paulo station - Brazil.

Does anybody know what can they be? the family?

they look like polyplacophores, very cool :)

one of them have done a failure molt...



have lost one leg, and the dorsal segment is strange...

what do you think about it? less humidity?

the other is ok, so gorgeus and have been feeding today...it is really fat :)

sorry, i can't help with the id, but i think that you should go back and look/catch/trap some more.

they are very neat looking.

I think you were making a joke with polyplacophores, right? ;) We know its not a sea dwelling creature...

It almost looks like a large nymph from the group Epilamprinae, however it could well be a Blaberidae. Either case, semi-dry to damp is fine for molt successfully. Too much air circulation and not enough humidity and the exoskeleton can harden during ecdysis which causes the molt process to "stall" and the insect die as a result.....

...***note: I am just a hobbiest that reads alot about roaches, and these are just my opinions.... despite my rather large collection.
