Hello! What started as a small interest in roaches has become a full fascination over the past few years, and I've started keeping a handful of pet roaches and want to keep more in the future. It can be tricky finding proper care information for some species however, especially when different sources list different information, and I'm wanting to take my roach care and education more seriously going forward- so I was wondering, based on your experience, what are common mistakes or misinformation you often see from beginner keepers? o:
(If it is relevant, my current colonies are of Dubias, Orange-Heads, Elliptorhina javanica (Halloween Hisser), Gromphadorhina portentosa (madagascar hisser), and two newer colonies of Gyna centurio and Therea bernhardti (domino roach) which are still nymphs.)
I'm also curious if y'all have observed roaches enjoying nutritious substrate (containing rotted wood, eggshell, worm casings) similar to millipedes and isopods at all?
