Im looking for a list of dry foods I can feed my roaches. I also feed wet foods like vegis & such daily but need a complete list of what has no moisture in it to prevent molding for several days at a time. Kim
If the enclosure is humid, even the driest foods will mold. Fish pellets tend to have higher mold-preventing capacities than foods like dog food, though.
For different colonies, I feed them different food daily, I take note what they like the most, and only feed that to them on daily basis. For instance, I feed orange head nymphs car food and lettuce, Madagascar hisser will get small piece of carrot and oat, Flat horn hisser will get lettuce and oat... etc. That way, they finish their food quickly. I would stop refilling their dish on Thursday or so, and feed them something different, sparingly on Sunday.
I've been feeding Flukers cricket food and ground bearded dragon pellets...Occasionally ill get compressed alfalfa cubes from the feed store and all of my roaches really dig that!
It's the Discoids that are picky...they seem to dig apples and lettuce the most, but occasionally will eat the dry food
