Favorite roach!

Roachfreak101

Mine is Archimandrita tesselata, the peppered roach.

I think they are really cool, they make a great display specimen just because of their size!

I would pick one up, put it on my hand, and it would just stay there while i walked around with it.

What is your favorite and why?

I'd have to say my favorite species that I have kept so far would have to be B. dubia mostly because of the individual personality differences, they are also a great feeder roach, and at this time all of my roaches are feeders.

My favorite that I haven't kept yet would be domino roaches.

I gotta go with the Austrailian Giant Rhino Roaches (Macropanesthia)... I really love the Macropanesthia and panesthia species roaches... but the glowspots are REALLY growing on me... hard to pick just one.

Easy one for me. Ergaula capucina! Maybe because it sounds and looks like a cappuccino with a swirl of cream (male has a beige band). The female is so beetle-like. Anybody out there have these in culture? Been a good seven years since I've seen them :(

I just can't do it!

I can, however, show you my favorite hisser ever (biggest giant stock I've seen, they do vary a lot). Anyone claiming to have seen one this big must include a photo with measuring device. I have a big hand.

I like the Discoid, a pretty roach thats a great feeder. I had some dubias but like the looks of the Discoids better. I"m waiting to get a dozen Peppereds that i have a feeling will be my new favorite (pet Roach)

Here are a couple of my wifes babies. Of course these are all females......

About to molt...... ;)

The big males ran into the roach motel we built and could not get them for a photo oppurtunity , pictures coming soon. Those guys are way bigger than the females hehehehe

Hmm... I like hissers, but orange heads and discoids are growing on me.

Baby discoids are soooooooo cute! ^^

I'm a huge fan of Blaberus Craniifer and Hissers (Giants, Blacks, Tigers, or any of the other Genus/Species like Princesses)

I really really miss my hisser colony. I got 100 giant adults for $25 shipped one time, man I wish I could find that deal again.

Blaptica Dubia are our favorites currently. They are hardy, non-climbers, no scent, slow, and breed at a good rate but not excessively fast.

They are also awesome feeders for our Leopard, Gargoyle, and Crested Geckos.

I've grown so attached to them I feel bad feeding them to my gang sometimes..

We finally got some pics of some of our big males...and couldn't resist adding just one layer of the nursery...lol

Wow! Those are some long hissers! I don't think I have any that look quite like that.

It's hard to pick a favorite roach. I like my Archmandrita tesselata a lot though. My nymphs are giant. I can't wait to see what the adults look like. They're really active too and don't mind me watching them eat.
