Figeater Scarab Beetles!

Inkie14

Fifth Instar
Cotinis mutabilis. This is a beautiful species of scarab. Adult beetles are about 1.25 inches long. They are active during the daytime, and when they fly they make a loud buzzing sound similar to that of a carpenter bee. They are not pests, and do not damage leaves or fruits of trees. They make an exciting, lively, and unique pet, they have a fascinating lifecycle, and make a great addition to any insect collection! Larvae are easy to rear, they just need decaying plant matter to eat.

Anyone here raise these little shiny bundles of fun?

I sell them on my website: Inkie's Bugs
