Japanese roach pages

I was rummaging around looking for information on Aeluropoda insignis (they're so awesome!) and this site popped up. After running it through the translator I found that they keep many roach species and have tons of pictures. It's a great site to browse through and has some valuable information. Sorry if this ends up being repost, I did my best to try and search out anything similiar on this forum.

That one set of photos of A. insignis make them look HUGE! Has anybody else seen stock like that of this species?

 
It seems like, just as with G. portentosa, G. oblongonata, etc, there is a large variant of A. insignis. It probably exists in the US stock but I'd assume it just hasn't shown up/been isolated yet.

There are alot of interesting Japanese bug websites, roaches, beetles, stick insects, and more- the Japanese find the bugs we call illegal amusing as pets. It also seems that most invertebrates are legal in Japan.

As for the insignis, when you get a large enough colony of them going you certainly find "interesting" variations.

I know it's a while's back, but did it turn out?

 
I sorta goofed up. I still have trouble telling the difference between mature and immature female A. insignis. I accidentally put already fertilized females in with him, and they gave birth. I'll just put those all back into the original colony and take out some half-grown females to grow for him. :P
