Josh's Frogs

Crazy Bug Lady

Third Instar
I made two separate purchases from Josh's Frog's.

www.joshsfrogs.com

The first purchase was a single female g portentosa and complete hisser care kit.  No complaints with the kit, but my female roach died after just two weeks.  I called to let them know and to ask if there was something I could do differently.  They said I was caring for her properly, but didn't apologize for the roaches death.

I later purchased two male hissers, one of whom died after about three months.  I think the roaches I purchased were just elderly or something.

All in all, nutral, good place to buy supplies, maybe not roaches.

Josh's frogs have good crickets and hornworms but I won't purchase roaches from them. I've bought several from them and had majority of them die. Most die during shipping, they are not packaged well. They shipped mine in small netted bags in with my other supplies. So many were crushed to death. As for hornworms and crickets... have yet to have an issue. (Have order of both should ship next week, we shall see how it goes.) I'm surprised by the reaction you received from customer service. I've always had good dealings with them when I've had issues. If anything went wrong the fixed it immediately.

Added note: for future orders. Specify how you want your items to be packed, and don't be afraid to request fresh stock/specimens every time you order.  Those two things make a big difference in the end results.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Hope you make out better from another breeder.

I have ordered from Josh’s Frogs many times. I have had a couple minor issues, but my feeders have always arrived healthy. No one can be perfect, but Josh’s Frogs is a great company!

yeah, ive ordered quite a few feeders and roaches from them. they probably just grab in at random but as i think that they probably do grab some of the older ones first. hornworms, dubias, hissers, plants...i think if i saw them at a convention id scoop up some frogs too. ah to live in a dream world surrounded by frogs and roaches.... lmao anyway, i think the customer service is whats kept me around. everytime ive had a problem i usually get decent response times and friendly answers which i enjoy. i follow their instagram and josh seems like a down to earth dude. im happy their customer service has improved since 2017. i do think they should package them better and make it way more obvious to mail carriers PLEASE knock on the door and dont put the living things in the back of the mailbox, PLEASE dont throw it at my door. PLEASE. i havent ordered anything from them in several months but everytime i got something alive (even plants) the mail carriers always managed to mess up bc they didnt see the labels. i think its important to criticize their husbandry or mailing practices so they can get better, everyone ive spoken to seems so eager to help.

Ordered a male hisser which said distinctly “adult” on the order. An inch long male arrived missing all his feet (clean cuts, look clipped) and his antenna were gone along with he was starving. I’m disappointed I didn’t contact them sooner.
