CockroachYet

First Instar
- Hello all, here in mexico country is difficult finding other feeder roaches than Hissers, but a very few roach-breeders only also have "Lobster-Roaches". No other feeder roaches availables here.

-So, please pros & cons for these roaches specificly when are used for feeding mantids?

-Thnk you, best regards. Roberto.

Lobster roaches are one of the best for feeding mantids.

Pros --They never attack the mantids and are a much healthier food than crickets -evidenced by the size and health of mantids fed on lobsters.

Cons-- Lobsters are born too large to feed baby mantids under 10mm long. The mantis cage must not be too large or contain substrate or they may never find the lobster.

-Hello Orin, thanks for reply and for the prons and cons. The general tendence for the mantids-keepers ever go to B lateralis like feeder-roach than Lobsters? or not realy exist such prefference at all with both roach species? thanks, best regards. Roberto.

B. lateralis aren't a very good feeder for mantids since they easily damage from handling when small and can't climb to attact attention.

Hello Orin, thanks for reply. I got it! so each of both roaches species have their own particular use for feeding insectivorous if considering ground level or uplevel life styles of insectivorous creatures. Thanks, best regards. Roberto.
