Obese Hissers

I took a look at my hissers today and realized that they aren't just ahem "big boned". At first I thought the females were with nymphs, and that's why they were so big, but the males are looking like they are about to explode too. Is it what I'm feeding them, or is it how much that I'm feeding them that is making them so fat? They all look like they are about to explode. Some of the adults are really long too. Some are 3.5" long and 3/4" thick (top to bottom).

That's a good question and I doubt you'll find an absolute answer. Most likely the obesity has as much to do with overfeeding as the types of food offered. Try feeding more vegetable matter.
