If the mites run around they are commensals not parasites. The feeding stage of parasitic mites looks like a sac without legs attached to a joint.

They don't move around at all. They are attatched to the joints of the roaches, and there are TONS of them! Is there anything I can do about them? Please help!

They are extremely tiny and whitish right? Those are common and are just annoying grain mites. Cut down on your moisture and food. They are caused by overfeeding and too much humidity. Make sure there is a food dish and it's not just tossed on the substrate, good luck.

(When I referred to attachment to the joints I meant to the actual integument only, not around.)
