This spider is commonly found close to rivers and prefers medium to high humidity. Adults build large orb webs similar to garden orb weavers. The orbs are generally two feet across, up to three, though the anchor lines can extend more than six feet. It is one of the only orb weavers that can feed without a web if kept in too small a container.

That is beautiful. Any idea where I could acquire one/some? I don't have any spare cash at the moment, but when I do I wouldn't mind having one or two of those.

I get some orange colored orb weavers by me, they create HUGE webs and if you walk into one your whole face is covered in the web, which happened to me MANY times! :P

Sweet! That is a really cool looking spider.

And Kieth, there is nothing funnier than watching someone walk into a spiderweb...Muahaha!
