I have some strange roaches outside my work and I was hoping to collect a few live ones so I can figure out what they are. I found this homemade roach trap and it sounds like it may be worth a try. I haven't had time to set it up yet but I thought I would share the link with you all :)

Thanks for the link- I should try to give it a try also...we have a bunch of cool roaches running around Texas!

 
Ditto- I will try it also! Though I have tried leaving out a 5 gallon bucket with mulch in the bottom, a fresh apple core, and Vaseline on the top few inches. I have found Periplaneta sp. in the bucket, but a couple of days later also found a couple of small, fat spiders.....

 
I've caught a few roaches in my back yard with that trap. Just set it in a dark place where you know there are roaches and collect it in a couple days. :D

I've still got the Oriental roach that I caught. I had an American in there too, but I wasn't being as careful as I shouldve been when removing old food and he escaped..
