Sling Question

Seventh Instar
I've got a B. smithi, about nickel size, and I've been feeding her(?) teeny tiny crickets and roaches almost every day. Well, she always seemed famished, so I gave her a bigger roach, about one third of her leg span, and the next day she refused food for the first time. She refused food for 11 days and then molted. Is it normal for such a small sling to fast for that long before a molt? She's housed in a 4"x4" cubicle with a coco fiber and sand mix. She's got a little plastic leaf and some cholla wood for cover and a single water crystal in a bottle cap that never dries out. Temp in my roach room is 84-88 for day and 80-83 at night.

Wait till she gets bigger and sometimes won't eat for months at times. Many Brachypelma and some other types are just made that way.
